La’Myia Good is an American actor, singer, and producer from California. With over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, she first found fame as a TV actor during the 1990s before forming the R&B group Isyss in the early 2000s. She continues to be a regular presence on American screens and has also added video games to her resume, voicing the character of Jammer in Killzone 3, a popular Playstation 3 first-person-shooter game.
Good was born in the Panorama City area of Los Angeles. Acting clearly runs in her family as her younger sister Meagan would go on to star in films such as Anchorman 2. The elder Good sister, meanwhile, made her on-screen debut in a 1993 pilot called Tall Hopes. During the latter part of the decade, the roles began to come more frequently and she appeared in the likes of ER and sitcoms such as City Guys, The Parkers, and The Parent ‘Hood. In 2001, she helped to form Isyss, an all-female R&B four-piece. The group released one album, 2002’s The Way We Do, which sold over 300,000 copies. During their brief career, they also won a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award, collaborated with rapper Jadakiss, and had a Billboard Hot 100 hit with ‘Single for the Rest of My Life’. Good subsequently formed an R&B trio, Bad Gyrl, and released well-received solo videos to YouTube before moving her focus back to acting.
Among Good’s most recent projects are If Not Now, When? an indie film that marks her sister Meagan’s directorial debut and which also stars Once Upon a Time’s Mekia Cox.
