Leighton Marissa Meester was born on April 9, 1986, in Fort Worth, Texas. She spent her early years in Marco Island, Florida, residing with her grandparents, where she first engaged with local theater, making her stage debut in a production of “The Wizard of Oz”. At age 11, Meester relocated to New York with her mother and began working as a model in TV commercials. By age 14, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother, transitioning into television work with her debut in “Disciple” (1999). A consistent stream of television appearances followed, setting the foundation for her career.
Meester achieved critical acclaim with her role as Blair Waldorf in The CW’s hit teen drama, “Gossip Girl”, from 2007 to 2012.
