Liam Pitchford

Liam Pitchford has established himself as a prominent figure in table tennis, competing at multiple Olympic Games and achieving significant international and Commonwealth success. After winning the British Home Countries Championship in 2009, Liam Pitchford quickly ascended through the national table tennis ranks, securing titles at U14, Cadet, U21, and Senior levels in singles, alongside various doubles accolades. His professional career gained international momentum with his transfer to the German second division club FC Tegernheim, before moving to the top-tier Bundesliga with TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in 2011. That same year, Pitchford achieved significant victories over World number nine Vladimir Samsonov and World junior number three Wu Jiaji, leading to his ranking as number one in England and a career-high World ranking of 171.

Continuing his impressive trajectory, Pitchford was the top pick for the Florida Crocs in the Major League Table Tennis Draft in 2024. In 2025, he further cemented his status by winning his seventh national Men’s Singles title and making history as the first English player to win a WTT singles title at the WTT Feeder Manchester.
