Lily-Rose Depp has established a career as an actress and fashion model, known for her roles in independent films and as a prominent brand ambassador.
Lily-Rose Depp has been a brand ambassador for Chanel since July 2015, becoming the youngest to front global campaigns for the French house. Handpicked by Karl Lagerfeld when she was 16, she has represented various facets of the brand, including their Pearl eyewear collection, Chanel No. 5 L'Eau fragrance, and summer 2024 makeup collection. Her association with Chanel now spans almost a decade and includes runway appearances and features in numerous fashion magazines.
Lily-Rose Melody Depp was born on May 27, 1999, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, to actors Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. Her early years involved splitting time between France and Los Angeles due to her parents’ work. She attended prestigious private schools in Los Angeles and performed well academically, participating in debate, dance, and music. Her early exposure to the entertainment industry included a track titled “La Ballade De Lily Rose” on her mother’s 2000 album, “Bliss.” In 2012, her parents separated, and she largely resided in the United States. She later decided to leave high school in 2016 to concentrate on her burgeoning acting career.
Depp made her acting debut in 2014 with a minor role in the horror comedy film “Tusk” and later reprised her role in the 2016 spin-off “Yoga Hosers.” Her first major role came in 2016, portraying American dancer Isadora Duncan in “The Dancer,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. This performance earned her nominations for Most Promising Actress at the 42nd César Awards and Best Female Revelation at the 22nd Lumières Awards. That same year, she appeared alongside Natalie Portman in “Planetarium.”
Beyond acting, Depp’s career as a fashion model began in 2015 when she became a brand ambassador for Chanel, a decision personally overseen by Karl Lagerfeld. She quickly became a visible face for the brand, appearing on runways and in numerous fashion magazines worldwide. In 2016, she was named the face of Chanel’s iconic fragrance, Chanel No. 5 L’Eau. Her filmography includes roles in “A Faithful Man” (2018), which garnered her a second César Award nomination, “The King” (2019) where she played Catherine of Valois, and the 2023 HBO series “The Idol.” Her performance in the 2024 gothic horror film “Nosferatu” received positive critical attention, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it a “revelation.”
