Linda Cardellini is a widely recognised American actress working across both film and television. Cardellini became a household name after starring in the hugely successful cult series Freaks and Geeks, then appearing in major productions such as Mad Men and ER. More recently, she’s landed leading roles in Netflix’s Bloodline and Dead to Me. Cardellini is also a familiar face on screen, having featured in the critically acclaimed Brokeback Mountain alongside Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal and the blockbuster franchise Avengers.
Cardellini excels in comical roles and has won a place in children’s hearts for her portrayal of the geeky Velma Dinkley in the family favourites Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. She also starred in Grandma’s Boy, Daddy’s Home and Daddy’s Home 2, as well as Dead Man on Campus. Cardellini isn’t just a comedy actress, however. Her ability to work across genres is demonstrated by stellar performances in dramas Green Book and Return; with the latter earning her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Female Lead. Her guest appearance in the period drama Mad Men also didn’t go unrecognised either: Cardelllini was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Sylvia Rosen at the Emmy Awards.
In 2015, Cardellini joined Netflix to take a leading role in the series Bloodline before working on another Netflix production, the dark comedy series Dead to Me. Most recently, she was cast as the lead in 2019’s horror film The Curse of La Llorona.
