“Let’s talk rubbish!” says Australia’s Lindsay Miles, a celebrated blogger, educator, author, and advisor on all issues concerning the increasingly popular Zero Waste and Plastic-Free movements. Building on the success of her long-running Treading My Own Path blog, she has been speaking professionally about sustainability for 10 years and gave a must-watch TedX talk in Perth entitled, ‘The Non-Disposable Life’. To date, she has written two books: Less Stuff: Simple Zero-Waste Steps to a Joyful and Clutter-Free Life (2019) and The Less Waste No Fuss Kitchen (2020). She is particularly popular on Instagram, where she now has more than 50,000 followers.
Miles began her Treading My Own Path blog in 2012 as a way of sharing her journey towards living a more conscious, sustainable life. Her personable style and easy-to-follow tips quickly found an audience, and her website was soon receiving upwards of 100,000 visitors per month. She began being asked to talk publicly, working with companies and schools, and helping to inspire people to produce less disposable waste. As her international reputation has grown, she has been interviewed and featured by the likes of ABC, the BBC, The Guardian, Channel 9, and many others. Her second book was published in Australia, the UK, the United States, and Canada.
Today, Miles is as busy and passionate as ever, more than happy to talk to anyone and everyone about how to live a life free of unnecessary waste.
