Loren Gold may not be a household name, but his talents are indispensable to several of them. Since 2012, he has been the keyboardist for rock legends The Who, performing live with them around the world. Before that, he worked as Hilary Duff’s musical director and co-wrote the opening track on American Idol winner Taylor Hick’s million-selling debut album. He has also performed with the likes of Demi Lovato, Chicago, Kenny Loggins, Huey Lewis & The News, Santana, Melissa Etheridge, and Mandy Moore. As well as all of that, he has been the keyboard player for the house band on shows such as Dancing with the Stars and America’s Got Talent, written two how-to-play-piano books, and had his original musical compositions used on major HBO and Showtime.
Born in California, Gold got his first taste of the big time when he played keyboards for American pop sensation Hilary Duff on her 2003 American tour. Thereafter, he worked as her musical director for four years. In 2009, after a spell in reality television, he began working with Who frontman Roger Daltrey on his solo live tour and, three years later, was asked to join Daltrey’s band The Who, adding keyboards to their live shows. Since then he has been an integral part of their touring band, travelling the world with them and playing everywhere from New York to London to Abu Dhabi.
When not touring with one of the greatest rock bands of all-time, Gold can be found playing keys for huge name rock acts such as Chicago and Cheap Trick.
