British actor Louis Emerick thrilled audiences for over a decade with his lively portrayal of Mick Johnson in the UK soap opera Brookside. First appearing in 1989, his character was involved in many fascinating, dramatic and sometimes controversial storylines, dealing with racism, addiction, and even euthanasia. A fan favourite, Emerick’s departure after 174 episodes was a bittersweet affair, though he went on to shine in several other TV series. Most notably, he played Mike Bateman in the medical drama Casualty, the even-tempered Police Constable Walsh in Last of the Summer Wine, Herman in the sitcom Zapped, and Mike Thornberry in Coronation Street, while taking on prominent roles in The Bill and Doctors.

He starred as Dougie in the TV movie Walls and Bridges, Dave in the 2017 movie Habit, and Trevor in the critically acclaimed indie-thriller Layer Cake, acting opposite Daniel Craig. On stage, he’s played Captain Hook in the St. Helens Theatre Royal’s production of Peter Pan, while delighting audiences in productions like Elf The Musical and The Full Monty.
