United States Maddy Siegrist has established herself as a prominent WNBA player for the Dallas Wings, transitioning from a record-breaking collegiate career to a professional athlete and special assistant at Villanova University.

Maddy Siegrist, born on May 22, 2000, in Poughkeepsie, New York, began her basketball journey at Our Lady of Lourdes High School. During her high school career, she was recognized as the Poughkeepsie Journal Player of the Year twice, averaging 21 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists per game as a junior, and an impressive 32.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in her senior year. Siegrist committed to Villanova for her collegiate career.
Her time at Villanova University was marked by significant achievements, despite redshirting her first season due to a broken ankle. As a freshman, she set a program record with 41 points and 10 rebounds in a single game, ultimately scoring 583 points, the most by a Villanova freshman. Siegrist earned first-team All-Big East and Freshman of the Year honors. Throughout her college career, she consistently performed at a high level, leading the Big East in scoring and ranking second in NCAA Division I with 25.3 points per game as a junior. She became the Big East’s all-time leading scorer, men’s or women’s, with 1,693 points, and recorded a career-high 50 points in a game against Seton Hall, also breaking Villanova’s career scoring record. She achieved the title of Big East Player of the Year twice, in 2022 and 2023, and was a two-time All-American selection.
Siegrist transitioned to a professional career after being selected 3rd overall in the 2023 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings. In her rookie season, she appeared in 39 games, averaging 3.7 points in limited minutes. Her role expanded significantly in her second season in 2024, starting 13 of 27 games and averaging 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds. Despite a broken finger and a tibial plateau fracture in her third season in 2025, Siegrist demonstrated resilience, returning to set new career highs with 23 points in a game and finishing the season averaging 12.7 points and 4.3 rebounds. Alongside her professional basketball commitments, Siegrist has also participated in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball and Unrivaled, winning the Athletes Unlimited championship in 2025. She also returned to Villanova in a special role as Special Assistant to the SWA in 2023, while pursuing a master’s degree in education.
