Tyers is accomplished in all fields of acting. Her early career saw her work in musical theatre, playing roles in the likes of Annie and Witches of Eastwick. Following her Elephant Princess success, she has also appeared in numerous short films and several feature films, including the 2015 comedy Border Protection Squad and the 2020 sci-fi thriller 24 Hours, in which she plays the Australian Prime Minister as a meteorite hurtles towards Earth.
A talented all-rounder, Tyers has also recently published her first children’s book, When Anna Comes to Stay, a magical realist picture book that deals with eating disorders in young people. Along with her husband Jimmy, she presents The Maddy & Jimmy Show on the couple’s YouTube channel, which has over 1,500 subscribers. The shows revolve largely around the couple’s passion for Lego.
