Jon Michael Ecker

Jon-Michael Ecker was born on March 16, 1983, in San Marcos, Texas, to an American mother and Brazilian actor Guy Ecker. He spent his early years and education in Texas, later earning a degree in Aquatic Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Following his academic pursuits, Ecker moved to Mexico City to begin his acting career, initially focusing on the Latin American market. This early period saw him develop his craft in Spanish-language productions, establishing a foundation before transitioning to wider audiences.

Ecker’s career gained momentum with significant roles in Latin American television. He played Aaron Morales in “Popland!” (2011) and later took on the main role of Pablo Peralta in the telenovela “Corazón valiente” (2012–2013). His work continued with the main role of Nicolás “Nico” de la Vega in “Gossip Girl: Acapulco” (2013). In 2014, Ecker made his feature film debut portraying Marlon Brando in the film “Cantinflas.” That same year, he returned to the U.S. and began working in the English-language market.

Since 2014, Ecker has accumulated a substantial filmography in American television. Notable roles include The Lion in “Narcos” (2015–2016) for four episodes, El Guero in “Queen of the South” (2016–2019) across 21 episodes, Max in “Firefly Lane” (2021) for nine episodes, and Lieutenant Greg Grainger in “Chicago Fire” (2021) for seven episodes. He also starred as Alex in the TV movie “Gingerbread Miracle” (2021) and as Scott in “The Watchful Eye” (2023) across 10 episodes. His upcoming work includes the main role of Dr. Jake Heller in the TV series “Doc,” slated for 2025.
