Magomed Ankalaev

Magomed Ankalaev is a prominent Russian mixed martial artist recognized for his disciplined striking and strategic approach in the Light Heavyweight division. After securing the WFCA Light Heavyweight Championship and winning the 2016 Akhmat FC Light Heavyweight Grand Prix, Magomed Ankalaev went on to establish a formidable professional career in mixed martial arts. Prior to his professional debut in 2014, Ankalaev achieved significant success in amateur competition, earning the WMMAA World Cup Gold Medal in 2013 and the Russian MMA Championship Gold Medal in 2014. He further distinguished himself with WMMAA World Championship Gold Medals in 2015 and 2016, along with the Russian Cup Gold Medal (2015) and Combat Sambo Cup of Dagestan Gold (2016).

His dominance led to him being named the 2015 Mixed Martial Artist of Russia and achieving the prestigious title of Master of Sports in Combat Sambo. Ankalaev continued his undefeated regional record before signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in October 2017.
