Tyron Woodley is an American mixed martial artist and professional boxer, widely recognized as a former UFC Welterweight Champion. After capturing the UFC Welterweight Championship by defeating Robbie Lawler in July 2016, Tyron Woodley solidified his position as a dominant force in mixed martial arts. He successfully defended his title four times against elite contenders, including two victories over Stephen Thompson, and single defenses against Demian Maia and Darren Till, before his championship reign concluded in March 2019. His journey in the Ultimate Fighting Championship began in 2013 with an explosive 36-second knockout win over Jay Hieron at UFC 156.

Woodley launched his professional mixed martial arts career on February 7, 2009, securing a first-round submission victory against Steve Schnider. This marked the beginning of a rapid ascent, including an undefeated run in Strikeforce after signing a six-fight deal in June 2009. During his time with Strikeforce, he earned significant wins against Tarec Saffiedine and Paul Daley before competing for the vacant Welterweight Championship in 2012.
