Rising star Major Dodson is an American child actor who has appeared on some of the most horrifying television shows of recent years. Despite his young age, Dodson had no problem with the squeamish side of the hit horror shows he has starred in, including The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Dodson made his debut in short film Alfred Thinks We’re Aliens in the title role. Several small movie roles followed before he got his first big break in the 2014 apocalyptic thriller movie Left Behind. A year later he was cast as Corey Bachman in American anthology horror series American Horror Story, appearing in four episodes of the hit show as the only child of Mildred and Jeffrey Bachman.
After American Horror Story, Dodson auditioned for the role of survivor Sam Anderson in post-apocalyptic horror show The Walking Dead, recording his audition tapes in secret and later finding out he had won the dream part after impressing director Greg Nicotero with his improvisation skills. Despite being one of the youngest actors to appear in the show Dodson went on to impress fans with his portrayal of Sam, and he won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series in 2016.
The future looks bright for Dodson as he continues his acting career, and the young star also finds time to help others through a charity his family helped create named Smiles for the Homeless.
