Malcolm Nance, a distinguished twenty-year veteran of the United States Navy and renowned counterterrorism expert, cultivated profound expertise during his service from 1981 to 2001. Specializing in Naval Cryptology, he engaged in critical counter-terrorism, intelligence, and combat operations across the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Nance’s foundational skills also led him to become a master instructor for the Navy’s elite Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) school, where he trained personnel in advanced interrogation resistance and survival techniques. He further solidified his academic credentials by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Excelsior University in 2011.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Nance immediately established Special Readiness Services International (SRSI) in 2001, an intelligence support company. On September 11, 2001, he served as a first responder at the Pentagon after American Airlines Flight 77 crashed, providing crucial assistance in rescue and recovery efforts. He continued to operate as an intelligence and security contractor, deploying to high-stakes international locations including Iraq, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, and North Africa. Between 2005 and 2007, Nance shared his counterterrorism insights as a visiting lecturer at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
Consistently sought after for his insights, Nance remains a frequent media commentator, particularly on MSNBC, where he provides expert analysis on national security and geopolitical events. His most recent New York Times bestseller, ‘They Want to Kill Americans,’ was released in 2022. Demonstrating his unwavering commitment to democratic principles, Nance joined the Ukrainian Foreign Legion in March 2022, publicly volunteering his expertise to defend against aggression.
