Mariah May Mead was born on August 4, 1998, in London, England. She began her professional wrestling career as a ring announcer in 2018 before making her in-ring debut under the name Mariah May in February 2019. Early in her career, she competed in independent promotions such as Revolution Pro Wrestling and United Wrestling UK, where she earned her first professional wrestling championship. In June 2019, she participated in a WWE tryout in the UK, receiving coaching from William Regal and Sarah Stock. Her early career also involved forming a tag team called the Dream Dollz with Zoe Lucas and engaging in rivalries that further developed her in-ring persona and abilities.
In 2022, May expanded her career internationally, touring the United States and wrestling for various promotions. She made her Japanese debut at World Wonder Ring Stardom’s Dream Queendom 2 event, joining Mina Shirakawa and Xia Brookside to form “Club Venus.” With Shirakawa, she became a Goddesses of Stardom Champion, marking her first championship in Stardom. Her tenure in Stardom included competing in the Cinderella Tournament and the 5 Star Grand Prix. She later joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in November 2023, where she was introduced as a fan and later an “understudy” to AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. During her time in AEW, she won the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament in 2024 and subsequently defeated Toni Storm to claim the AEW Women’s World Championship. May transitioned to WWE’s NXT brand in June 2025, adopting the ring name Blake Monroe and continuing her career progression in a highly visible setting.
