Marina Stakusic made her professional WTA Tour debut in 2022 at the Championnats de Granby, where she recorded a first-round victory over Jaimee Fourlis. Demonstrating her burgeoning talent from an early stage, she also achieved a career-high junior ranking of No. 31, underscoring her early potential in the sport. In 2023, Stakusic proved to be a pivotal member of the Canadian Billie Jean King Cup team, playing a crucial role in securing the nation’s inaugural victory in the prestigious competition.

During the tournament, she earned three wins in four singles matches, notably defeating top 60 ranked opponents, including a decisive victory against Martina Trevisan in the final against Italy. This remarkable team success marked a significant milestone in her burgeoning career. Individually, she further cemented her progress by winning three ITF singles titles, including her first at ITF Valladolid, concluding 2023 with an impressive 26-5 win-loss record and achieving a career-high singles ranking of No. 258.

Stakusic continued her ascent in 2024, making her Grand Slam main draw debut at Wimbledon and her WTA 1000 debut at the Canadian Open, where she secured her first win at this elevated level against Erika Andreeva. Later in 2024, she delivered a breakout performance at the Guadalajara Open, earning her first top 20 win by defeating world No. 12 Jelena Ostapenko and advancing to her maiden WTA Tour quarterfinal. Her success continued as she went on to clinch her first WTA 125 title at the Abierto Tampico in Mexico, where she triumphed over Anna Blinkova in the final.

Her impressive progression culminated in a career-high singles ranking of world No. 114, achieved on February 24, 2025, reflecting her consistent performance and growing presence on the international circuit.
