Marina Stakusic

Marina Stakusic was born on November 27, 2004, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She began playing tennis at the age of five. Her professional career began in 2022, marking her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the Championnats de Granby. In this tournament, she defeated Jaimee Fourlis in the first round before falling to Marta Kostyuk. Stakusic achieved a career-high junior ranking of No. 31, showcasing her potential in the sport from an early age.

In 2023, Stakusic was a key member of the Canadian Billie Jean King Cup team, contributing significantly to their first victory in the competition. She secured three wins in four singles matches against top 60 ranked opponents, including a decisive victory against Martina Trevisan in the final against Italy. This team success marked a major milestone in her early career. She also won three ITF singles titles this year, ending 2023 with a 26-5 win-loss record and a career-high singles ranking of No. 258.
