Mark Gorodnitsky

Mark Gorodnitsky was born on March 23, 2001, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. He began figure skating in 2005, around the age of four, and has been consistently coached by Andrei Berezintsev and Inga Zusev at the Richmond Training Centre. His connection to Israel through his father, who lived there for eight years, led to the Israel Ice Skating Federation inviting him to compete for the country when he was fourteen. Gorodnitsky accepted this opportunity, marking a significant turning point in his early career in figure skating.

Throughout his career, Gorodnitsky has accumulated numerous achievements. He is a four-time Israeli national champion, securing titles in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. His international senior-level accomplishments include a silver medal at the 2018 Volvo Open Cup and a bronze medal at the 2023 CS Nepela Memorial. He has also represented Israel at multiple World and European Championships, demonstrating continued progression and competitive presence on the global stage. His personal best total score stands at 243.29, achieved at the ISU CS Warsaw Cup 2023, where he also earned his personal best short program score of 82.06. His personal best free skating score of 162.76 was recorded at the ISU World Championships 2024. These milestones highlight his dedication and performance improvements over the years.

Gorodnitsky’s journey includes participating in events such as the Winter Youth Olympics in 2016 and multiple ISU Junior Grand Prix series. He has consistently aimed to refine his technique, evidenced by his programs choreographed by Andrei Berezintsev and Inga Zusev, featuring music from various artists and genres. Beyond his competitive career, Mark is also a university student and a figure skating coach, balancing his academic pursuits and sharing his expertise with aspiring skaters.
