Canadian professional slopestyle and big air snowboarder, Mark McMorris is an Olympic winning bronze medallist in the sport.
Despite having only been competing professionally since 2009, McMorris has made a huge impact on the snowboarding scene. Growing up in the mountain-free region of Canada, Saskatchewan, McMorris took up the sport for its likeness to skateboarding. Since competing professionally, McMorris has gone on to win numerous slopestyle and big air competitions, in 2010 at the age of 16 he won the World Cup slopestyle, which was also his first competition. Fast forward and after making his debut at the Aspen Winter X Games in which he finished second, McMorris went on to win silver at the 2012 Tigner Winter X Games and win both the slopestyle and big air competitions at the 2012 Aspen Winter X Games, titles that led McMorris to become the second snowboarder to be a double gold medallist. Continuing his success, McMorris competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi at which he was the for Canadian to take home a bronze medal in the games slopestyle event.
A snowboarder known for pushing the boundaries of the sport, McMorris broke records when he landed the first-ever triple cork and backside triple cork in contest history. Heavily involved with numerous charitable organisations, McMorris donates both equipment and his time to charities including KidSport and Jump Start.
