Mark Wales is a former SAS Troop Commander, who left the military and started his own clothing company, and now runs his own consultancy firm.
Wales has an impressive career history, starting with his time in the military where he led teams on countless missions in some of the harshest environments on earth including warzones in Iraq and Afghanistan. He led elite teams on numerous tours, serving for a total of 16 years in the Australian Military and a further 6 in the SAS. After he finished his time in the army, Wales suffered from mental illness, including depression and PTSD, which he has now overcome. His remarkable recovery has seen him start a new career in business, first studying at the Wharton School of Business and then joining consultancy firm McKinsey and Company in New York City. At the same time, Wales was building his own company, a luxury clothing brand called Kill Kapture. The pieces are designed by ex-army operatives, and have become popular around the world for their distinctive, edgy style.
In 2017, Wales was a star of the hit television series Survivor, becoming popular with audiences during his time on the show. He will also appear in upcoming TV programme The World’s Toughest Race: Eco Challenge Fiji 2019. Wales has also embarked on another journey, educating and mentoring other business leaders on strategy, teamwork and leadership in high pressure situations. He now travels the world giving talks and workshops to high profile clients.
