Lady Lane-Fox, also known as Martha Lane Fox, is the co-founder of highly distinguished online travel retailer Last Minute.com. Founded in 1998, the website drew in more than 500,000 regular users by 2000, proving an absolute must for many hopeful holidaymakers.
During Fox’s prosperous career she has sat on the boards of Twitter, Marks and Spencer, Chanel and Channel 4, unmistakably huge household brands. Assisting with such digital projects undoubtedly influenced Fox in the founding of charity Doteveryone in 2015, a ground-breaking organisation that champions responsible technology for a fairer future.
Doteveryone’s main objective is to aid society in shaping our digital world and navigate the moral and ethical issues it presents. The charity extensively researches the impact certain technologies have on society and encourages communities to engender positive change and transformation.
In addition to founding these successful companies and organisations, Fox became the youngest female member to enter the House of Lords as a crossbencher and was appointed chancellor of the Open University in 2014.
Lane Fox is an advocate for human rights, women’s rights and social justice. She is a patron of Camfed, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty, HIV, and AIDS in rural Africa through an emphasis on the education of young women.
