Mat Hoffman is a legendary BMX rider who has invented more than 100 original tricks, and is the founder of Hoffman Bikes.
Hoffman started competing in BMX competitions when he was just 11 years old, having taught himself how to ride and developed a fearlessness when it came to height and speed. By the time he was 15 he had been selected to join the BMX circuit, winning the first ever professional competition he entered and winning the first prize of more than $2000. By the time he was just 19 years old, he had joined the pro division of the circuit, and in the same year he founded both of his companies, Hoffman Bikes which makes and sells custom BMX equipment and Hoffman Promotions which organises global bike events. He later founded Hoffman Sports Association which organises BMX events and competitions around the world, along with the Bicycle Stunt series to give riders a place to showcase their talents and tricks.
As well as performing and organising events, Hoffman has produced countless video series and television shows around the world, including Kids in the Way, Mat’s World, Mat Hoffman’s Evel Knievel Tribute and several Jackass films. He is now widely regarded as one of the best vertical ramp bikers of all time, having truly earned his nickname of The Condor and his place in the sporting history books.
