Adam Yates

Born on August 7, 1992, in Bury, Greater Manchester, Adam Yates began his cycling career alongside his twin brother, Simon Yates. After starting with local clubs Bury Clarion and Eastlands Velo, Yates chose to focus on road racing, developing his skills in France with support from the Dave Rayner Fund. His amateur career culminated in a notable second-place finish at the 2013 Tour de l’Avenir, a significant stepping stone before turning professional.

Yates joined UCI World Tour team Orica–GreenEDGE in 2014, making an immediate impact by finishing eleventh overall and winning the young rider classification at the Tour de San Luis. His breakthrough came in the 2014 Tour of Turkey, where he secured his first professional victories by winning a stage and ultimately the general classification. He continued to demonstrate his potential with top-ten finishes in prestigious races like the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour of California, establishing himself as a formidable talent in the professional peloton.

Throughout his career, Yates has maintained a high level of performance across multiple teams, including Mitchelton-Scott, Ineos Grenadiers, and currently UAE Team Emirates XRG. He has achieved numerous overall victories in stage races, including the Volta a Catalunya (2021), Tour de Romandie (2023), and Tour de Suisse (2024), along with significant one-day race wins such as the Clásica de San Sebastián (2015) and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal (2023). A consistent Grand Tour contender, Yates earned a third-place overall finish at the 2023 Tour de France, further solidifying his status among the elite cyclists.
