Matt Lucas is a versatile British-German actor, comedian, writer, and television presenter, recognized for his work in sketch comedy and film, and as a popular host of major television programs. After co-creating and starring in the groundbreaking sketch comedy series ‘Little Britain’ (20032006), which originated as a BBC Radio 4 show before transitioning to television, Matt Lucas became a versatile performer. In ‘Little Britain,’ Lucas portrayed an array of memorable characters including Andy Pipkin, Vicky Pollard, and Marjorie Dawes, earning widespread recognition and critical success, including being named among the most powerful people in TV comedy by Radio Times in 2005. His writing and acting partnership with David Walliams began with the creation of ‘Rock Profile’ in 1999, spoofing musical personalities.
Continuing his theatrical career, he returned to the Gielgud Theatre to portray Monsieur Thénardier in ‘Les Misérables’ in 2019, following his starring role as Bill Snibson in the revival of ‘Me and My Girl’ in 2018.
