United States Matt Stone is an Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor, animator, writer, and producer, widely recognized for co-creating the critically acclaimed animated series "South Park" and the Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon."
Stone and Trey Parker signed a $900 million deal for six additional seasons of "South Park" and 14 movies in the "South Park" universe for streaming on Paramount+. This deal also includes a five-year agreement to exclusively stream the series and produce 10 episodes per year.

Through their production company, Park County, Matt Stone and Trey Parker reached a five-year, $1.5 billion deal that includes five more seasons of 'South Park' and moves the library to Paramount+. Separately, the company is producing an untitled film with Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free's PGLang.
WarnerMedia acquired exclusive streaming rights to 'South Park' starting in June 2020 for HBO Max. The deal was reported to be between $500 million and $550 million for multi-year streaming rights.
Matthew Richard Stone was born on May 26, 1971, in Houston, Texas. He developed an early interest in entertainment and pursued studies in film and mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. It was there that he met Trey Parker, his future creative partner. Their collaboration began with various short films, including “Jesus vs. Frosty” in 1992, and culminated in the feature-length musical “Cannibal! The Musical” in 1993, a project born from Parker’s interest in Alfred Packer, a 19th-century prospector accused of cannibalism. Though initially struggling in Los Angeles, their short film “The Spirit of Christmas” became one of the internet’s first viral videos, leading to the development of “South Park”.
“South Park” premiered on Comedy Central in August 1997, quickly becoming a significant success and transforming the network. Stone and Parker have continued to write, direct, and voice characters for the series, known for its rapid production schedule allowing for timely social commentary. Their work expanded to feature films like “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” (1999) and “Team America: World Police” (2004). A major turning point in their career was the development of the Broadway musical “The Book of Mormon,” which premiered in 2011 to widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards. This success led them to establish Important Studios in 2013, focusing on diverse entertainment projects. Most recently, in 2021, Stone and Parker signed a monumental $900 million deal with Paramount Global, securing additional seasons of “South Park” and multiple spin-off movies, solidifying their standing in the media landscape.
