Burna Boy

Burna Boy is a GRAMMY Award-winning Nigerian artist known for his genre-bending ‘Afro-fusion’ sound, blending Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, R&B, and reggae. He has consistently achieved global recognition through acclaimed albums and significant cultural impact. After achieving initial recognition with his 2012 single ‘Like to Party,’ GRAMMY Award-winning artist Burna Boy went on to release his debut studio album, L.I.F.E (2013), which sold an impressive 40,000 copies on its release day. The album garnered critical acclaim for its distinctive Afro-fusion sound, drawing inspiration from Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and Bob Marley.

His career trajectory saw a major shift in 2017 when he signed with Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group, leading to the release of his major label debut, Outside, in 2018. This project earned him Album of the Year at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Burna Boy’s global presence expanded significantly in 2019, highlighted by winning Best International Act at the BET Awards and being recognized as an Apple Music Up Next artist. His critically acclaimed fourth studio album, African Giant (2019), received a prestigious GRAMMY Award nomination for Best World Music Album and secured Album of the Year at the All Africa Music Awards.

Looking ahead, Burna Boy is set to release his eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness, in 2025.
