About

Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5, 1956, in Encino, Los Angeles, California, the youngest of four children. Her acting career began at age six after winning the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Early in her career, she appeared in TV commercials for brands like Barbie and Kool Aid, and secured roles in popular sitcoms such as “Bewitched” (1964) and “My Three Sons” (1960). She also lent her voice to Mattel talking dolls, establishing a strong presence in the entertainment industry from a young age.

McCormick gained widespread recognition for her role as Marcia Brady on “The Brady Bunch,” which aired from 1969 to 1974. This iconic role made her a top teen role model in America. Beyond television, she explored a singing career, releasing solo tracks and an album with co-star Christopher Knight. Years later, she would release a country music album, “When You Get a Little Lonely” (1995). Her career involved numerous feature films and TV guest spots, including “Baby Huey’s Great Easter Adventure” (1999) and “The Million Dollar Kid” (2000). She has actively engaged in reality television, appearing on VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” and CMT’s “Gone Country.” In 2008, she published her autobiography, “Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice,” which became a New York Times bestseller.

Throughout her career, McCormick has used her platform for advocacy, particularly for inclusivity. Inspired by her brother Denny, she became a global ambassador for Special Olympics International in 2020. Her commitment extends to public speaking and various projects, such as HGTV’s “A Very Brady Renovation” (2019) and “Frozen in Time” (2021), where she combined her design interests with television work. She continues to be a performer, author, and advocate, driven by her personal experiences and a desire to make a positive impact.
