Mayling Ng

Mayling Ng was born in the United Kingdom to a Singaporean Chinese father and a British mother. Her early life included time in Tenerife, Canary Islands, and Liverpool, England, where she attended Calderstones School, before her family relocated to Spain, Singapore, and eventually California, where she is currently based. This multicultural upbringing has given her a unique global perspective that she applies to her work in the film industry. Her career began in Singapore, leading her into the Hong Kong Action Martial Arts film industry, where her skills in combat and unique physical presence were quickly recognized. Ng is trained in various martial arts, including Shaolin Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Kickboxing, and Eskrima. She is also proficient with multiple weapons such as swords, Bo staffs, nunchucks, knives, as well as archery and firearms, capabilities developed through her training with Raw Combat International.

Her acting career has seen her take on roles in significant productions. In 2017, she appeared as Orana in “Wonder Woman,” followed by the role of Khensa in “The Scorpion King: Book of Souls” in 2018. A notable milestone came in 2021 when she portrayed Mongal in “The Suicide Squad,” a DC Comics film. These roles often involve her performing her own action scenes, leveraging her extensive martial arts background. Prior to her acting career, Ng was an award-winning fitness champion and personal trainer. She also founded her own fitness and personal training company in Singapore and received the Barclays Entrepreneur Award for her Lyte protein restaurant concept, which expanded to three locations in Spain. Her work continues with several upcoming projects, including roles in “The Journeyman,” “Swole Mate,” “Song of the Sword,” and “Intercept.

Mayling Ng’s career progression demonstrates a successful transition from the fitness world into acting, propelled by her discipline and physical abilities. Her work on films such as “Lady Bloodfight” (2016), “Debt Collectors” (2020), and “Legend of the White Dragon” (2023) further solidifies her presence in action-oriented cinema.
