Christopher Russell

Christopher Russell was born on January 8, 1983, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a first-generation Canadian with British parents. From an early age, he showed an interest in performing arts. His initial acting experience was in a preschool production where he played Mary and Joseph’s donkey in “The Nativity Story.” During high school, he continued to participate in theatrical productions, notably portraying Magnus Muldoon in a rendition of Tom Stoppard’s “The Real Inspector Hound,” for which he received the Sears Drama Festival Award of Excellence.

Russell’s career progressed to include roles in notable television series and films. In his early film work, he appeared in George Romero’s “Land of the Dead” in 2005. He has also been featured in television series such as “Supernatural” in 2009, “Star Trek: Discovery” in 2017, and “Day of the Dead” in 2021. His television credits also include guest star and recurring appearances on “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” “Men in Trees,” “Flashpoint,” “The Listener,” “Murdoch Mysteries,” “iZombie,” “Nikita,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”

In addition to his diverse acting roles, Russell has frequently appeared in television movies, particularly within the holiday and romance genres. These include “Love, Again,” “Midnight Masquerade,” “The Boy Next Door,” “Seduced By Lies,” and “Catch A Christmas Star.” His filmography further includes “Gone Tomorrow,” “Gangster Exchange,” “Center Stage: Turn It Up,” and “The Right Kind Of Wrong,” which was an official selection for TIFF 2013, starring Ryan Kwanten and Catherine O’Hara. He currently resides in Vancouver with his wife and two children.
