Mehdi Hasan is an award-winning British-American journalist, broadcaster, and author, recognized for his incisive interviewing style and in-depth analysis of global affairs. After joining Al Jazeera English in May 2012 as a presenter, Mehdi Hasan quickly became known for hosting programs such as ‘The Café,’ ‘Head to Head,’ and ‘UpFront.’ This pivotal role followed a distinguished early career in British media, where he began as a researcher for ITV’s Jonathan Dimbleby programme and BBC’s The Politics Show. He also served as deputy executive producer for Sky’s breakfast show Sunrise and further developed his editorial expertise as the editor of news and current affairs at Channel 4. From late spring 2009 until May 2012, Hasan was the senior editor for politics at the New Statesman, subsequently becoming the political director for the UK edition of The Huffington Post.
