Tanzania Nimfasha Berchimas is a professional soccer player known for his performances as a forward for Charlotte FC and the United States Youth National Teams.
Charlotte FC signed American forward Nimfasha Berchimas on Nov. 17, 2022, as the Club's second Homegrown player. At the time of his signing, Berchimas was the six-youngest player to sign an MLS contract.

Berchimas made his professional debut with Crown Legacy FC in its season opener on March 26. He made eight appearances on the year and netted his first pro goal on Sept. 17 in a 1-0 win vs. New England Revolution II.
Nimfasha Berchimas was born on February 22, 2008. He moved to the United States as a child from Tanzania, eventually settling in High Point, North Carolina. His soccer journey began at a young age, playing for Piedmont Triad Football Club and then NC Fusion. In 2020, at just 12 years old, Berchimas joined the Charlotte FC Academy.
Berchimas’ career progression advanced significantly on November 17, 2022, when he signed a homegrown contract with Charlotte FC, becoming the club’s second Homegrown player. At the time, he was the sixth-youngest player to sign an MLS contract, at 14 years and 268 days old. He made his professional debut on March 26, 2023, with Crown Legacy FC, Charlotte FC’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, and scored his first professional goal on September 17, 2023, against New England Revolution II. In 2024, Berchimas made his MLS debut for Charlotte FC, playing off the bench in three matches, including the season opener against NYCFC on February 26, becoming the ninth youngest player in MLS history to do so at 16 years and three days old. He spent the majority of that season with Crown Legacy FC, appearing in 21 matches, scoring six goals, and making two playoff starts.
Internationally, Berchimas has represented the United States across several youth national teams. He has accumulated 27 appearances with eight goals and two assists for various U.S. Youth National Team squads, including the U-15s, U-16s, U-17s, U-19s, and U-20s. A notable milestone was his performance at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he scored three goals, making him one of the tournament’s leading scorers and the youngest American to score at a U-17 World Cup since Freddy Adu in 2003. He also led the U.S. U-20 squad to the title match of the Concacaf U-20 Championships, contributing two goals and one assist during their six-match run.
