Award-winning Israeli actress Meital Dohan has enjoyed a glittering career in television and film and is also a chart-topping musician. Her many accolades include an Israeli Tony award and two Israeli Oscar nominations, and she has been a part of major productions including Romeo and Juliet, Ugly Betty and Dancing with the Stars. She is best known to American audiences for her portrayal of Yael Hoffman on Weeds (Showtime), The Sopranos , Monogamy alongside Rashida Jones, Foreclosure co-starring Michael Imperioli and for the role of Aurora in Woke Up Dead. As a singer she has scored global hits with the likes of ‘Yummy’ and ‘On Ya’ with Sean Kingston which smashed into the UK Club Pop Charts top 5 and the Billboard Club Chart.
Dohan studied at the Nissan Nativ acting school after serving in the I.D.F theater when she joined the Israel Defence Forces. Whilst studying she began to star in feature films and television productions in Israel and after graduating she joined the Cameri Theatre. Her portrayal of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at the Cameri kick-started her career, and in 2000 she won an Israeli Theatre Award for her part in Best Friends. After 2 years in theatre she landed her first major movie role in Giraffes which also led to the central role of Nataly in the Israeli version of Ugly Betty.
In 2006 she got her big international break playing Yael Hoffman in Weeds. The role led to numerous parts in US television and films, and she soon became involved in the music industry. Working with hip-hop producer Che Pope she has enjoyed international chart success and her music videos have been viewed over 12 million times.
