English actress Melanie Liburd is known for her starring roles in Dark Matter, The Grinder, This is Us and Netflix psychological thriller Gypsy.

Liburd’s career started out in fashion, when she studied Fashion Design and Art History at university. She also started modelling when she was just 17 years old, funding herself through university with her earnings and travelling all over the world for shoots. She appeared in TV commercials, advertisements and major campaigns, and it was through modelling that she discovered a love of acting which she knew she wanted to explore more. She attended The Identity Drama School to hone her craft, and started going to auditions and landing parts. Some of her earliest roles were in Strike Back, Dracula, Stalker and Crime Scene Investigation, before her breakout role in TV series The Grinder in 2015. Small parts in Game of Thrones and Double Play quickly followed for the flourishing actress, followed by a starring role in Canadian sci-fi series Dark Matter. Liburd was a cast member for over a year, also being snapped up to appear in Netflix’s psychological thriller Gypsy and Power Book 2: Ghost in 2020. The hugely popular series made the talented actress a household name, and most recently she has had a major role in This is Us.

With several exciting projects in the pipeline and numerous high profiles parts to her name, Liburd’s career continues to go from strength to strength and she is now a highly sought after actress.
