Melanie Liburd

Melanie Liburd was born in Hertfordshire, England, the daughter of Georgina, a Realtor, and Michael Liburd, a Martial Arts Expert. She is of Kittitian and English descent. Prior to pursuing acting, she engaged in other creative fields; she studied Art History and attained a BA Hons in Fashion Design. Her early career also included work as a fashion and beauty model, which allowed her to travel internationally. This foundational experience preceded her formal acting training at The Identity Drama School, marking a transition in her professional focus.

Liburd’s acting career began in 2012 with appearances in the Sky One series “Strike Back.” Her roles expanded over the years to include significant television productions. In 2016, she appeared in “Game of Thrones” as the Street Red Priestess Meereen in the episode “No One.” From 2016 to 2017, she took on the role of Nyx Harper in “Dark Matter” across 13 episodes. A notable turning point came with her main role as Alexis in the psychological thriller series “Gypsy” in 2017, which further established her presence in television. She later joined the cast of “This Is Us” as Zoe Baker, appearing in 21 episodes from 2018 to 2021, and portrayed Caridad ‘Carrie’ Milgram in “Power Book II: Ghost” over 20 episodes from 2020 to 2022.

In recent years, Liburd has expanded her work into films and video games, demonstrating her versatility. She featured as Karina Cooper in the 2018 film “Brian Banks” and as Jean Baptiste in the 2023 film “Perpetrator.” Her contribution to video gaming includes providing voice and motion capture for the character Saga Anderson in “Alan Wake II” in 2023, a role for which she received a nomination for Best Performance at The Game Awards 2023 and won the Great White Way Award for Best Acting in a Game at the New York Game Awards in 2024. Most recently, she appeared as Christine in the 2024 film “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”
