Christopher Randolph

Christopher Randolph, born in 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts, has established a career as an actor and voice actor spanning several decades. He began his journey in acting, eventually earning an MFA from the graduate acting program at UCSD. His early career included significant stage roles, such as appearing in ‘King Lear’ on Broadway alongside Christopher Plummer, as well as numerous Off-Broadway and regional productions. His diversified talent also led him to early television guest appearances on programs like ‘Doogie Howser, M.D.’ in 1993, ‘NewsRadio’, and ‘Mad About You’, both in 1998, and ‘Will & Grace’ in 2000, illustrating his range early in his career.

Randolph’s career saw a pivotal turn with his entry into voice acting, particularly within the ‘Metal Gear Solid’ video game franchise. He initially auditioned for multiple parts, including Solid Snake, before securing the role of Hal “Otacon” Emmerich in ‘Metal Gear Solid’ (1998), credited then as Christopher Fritz. This role marked the beginning of a long-standing association with the series, where he became the English voice for Otacon across multiple installments, including ‘Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’ (2001), ‘Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots’ (2008), and ‘Super Smash Bros. Brawl’ (2008). His involvement expanded further as he voiced Huey Emmerich in ‘Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker’ (2010), ‘Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ (2014), and ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ (2015).

Beyond the ‘Metal Gear Solid’ universe, Randolph has contributed additional voices to other video game titles, notably ‘Mafia III’ (2016) and motion capture work for ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ (2018). His television roles also include recurring appearances as Dr. Hendricks on ‘As the World Turns’ in 2005, and as ER Doctor Tompkins on ‘Guiding Light’. More recently, he has appeared as Judge Linder in ‘Law & Order’ (2022–2023) and as Capt. Salvatore Marino in the short film ‘A Father’s Son’ (2022).
