Eliza Taylor

Eliza Jane Taylor-Cotter, known professionally as Eliza Taylor, was born on October 24, 1989, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Her early career began in Australian television, where she gained recognition for her role as Janae Timmins in the long-running soap opera, “Neighbours” (2005–2008). Prior to this, she starred as Rosie Cartwright in “The Sleepover Club” in 2003 and also appeared in “Pirate Islands.” Her departure from “Neighbours” in 2007 marked a transition in her career.

Taylor’s career progressed with a move to international projects. In 2013, she secured the lead role of Clarke Griffin in The CW’s post-apocalyptic science fiction series “The 100,” a role she held for seven seasons (2014–2020). This role provided a significant platform, making her known to a global audience. During her time on “The 100,” she also engaged in film work, appearing in the thriller “The November Man” (2014) alongside Pierce Brosnan, “Thumper” (2017), and the Netflix romantic comedy “Christmas Inheritance” (2017).

More recently, Taylor has expanded into production and direction. In 2021, she directed music videos for “Vices” by Sarah and the Sundays and “Bad Posture” by Abby Anderson. As an actress, she took on a guest role in “The Orville” in 2022 and a main role as Hannah Carson in “Quantum Leap” from 2023 to 2024. In 2023, she served as an executive producer for the films “I’ll Be Watching” and “It Only Takes a Night,” also starring in both. She co-produced and starred in the short film “Status: Active,” which premiered in 2025. Taylor has received multiple nominations for her work, including several Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
