Meredith Salenger began her professional acting career starring as an orphan in ‘Annie’ in 1982, directed by John Huston. By 1985, she secured a lead role in ‘The Journey of Natty Gann’ acting opposite John Cusack and Ray Wise. This film garnered the gold award at the Moscow Film Festival and earned Salenger the ‘Best Actress in a Drama’ award at the Youth in Film Awards the same year. She continued her film work in teen movies such as ‘A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon’ in 1988 alongside River Phoenix and Matthew Perry, and ‘Dream a Little Dream’ in 1989.
She also co-hosts the podcast ‘Did You Get My Text?’ with her husband, Patton Oswalt. In 2024, she served as an executive producer for the short film ‘Sardinia’ and further expanded her voice acting portfolio by reprising her role as Barriss Offee in ‘Star Wars: Tales of the Empire.’
