Michael Dorn

Michael Dorn, acclaimed actor, director, and writer, achieved widespread recognition for his portrayal of Worf in the iconic ‘Star Trek’ franchise. After securing his first regular television role as Officer Jebediah Turner in the crime drama series ‘CHiPs’ from 1979 to 1982, Dorn made his uncredited film debut in ‘Rocky’ (1976) as Apollo Creed’s bodyguard, followed by roles in ‘Demon Seed’ (1977) and ‘W.E.B.’ (1978). His career trajectory shifted dramatically when he was cast as Worf in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ (1987-1994), marking the first time a Klingon character was a main cast member in a ‘Star Trek’ television series. His portrayal of Worf, an orphaned Klingon raised by humans, quickly resonated with audiences.

The immense popularity of Dorn’s character led to him joining the main cast of ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ from 1995 to 1999. Beyond television, he reprised the role of Worf in four feature films: ‘Star Trek Generations’ (1994), ‘Star Trek: First Contact’ (1996), ‘Star Trek: Insurrection’ (1998), and ‘Star Trek: Nemesis’ (2002). His expansive involvement in the franchise also included playing an ancestor, Colonel Worf, in ‘Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country’ (1991). With a remarkable 288 appearances as Worf across television and film, Dorn holds the distinction of being the actor with the most on-screen appearances in the ‘Star Trek’ universe.

An accomplished pilot, he serves on the advisory board of the Air Force Aviation Heritage Foundation, reflecting his diverse interests beyond entertainment.
