Michael Sam is a retired Football player and a prominent LGBTQ activist, known for his groundbreaking role in the NFL. He began his Football journey at Hitchcock High School in Texas, where he excelled as a defensive end and offensive tackle, earning first-team All-District honors. His impressive high school performance led him to the University of Missouri, where he became a standout player, culminating in being named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and a unanimous All-American.

In 2014, Sam made history when he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, becoming the first openly gay player to be selected in the NFL Draft.
