The multi-talented Michael Trewartha is a musician and producer, as well as one half of the award-winning multi-platinum EDM duo Grey, alongside his brother, Kyle. They are best known for their 2016 debut single, Starving, which featured singer Hailee Steinfeld and was produced by Zedd.
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, Trewartha was interested in making music from a young age. He started to learn how to produce in 2013, and two years later he was collaborating with his equally talented brother, Kyle. They formed the EDM band Grey, and their first release was a remix of Jack Ü’s Where Are Ü Now. It wasn’t long before their musical output attracted the attention of the record label Skrillex, and their debut single, Starving, came out in 2016. It became a huge hit, and was certified 4x Platinum with RIAA, and 2x Platinum with ARIA. That was followed by their debut EP, Chameleon, in 2017. In 2018 they released The Middle (with Zedd and Maren Morris) and were signed by Island Records. The single went to No.1 in the US Pop chart and was certified 5x Platinum with ARIA. They have continued to produce and release groundbreaking music to an ever-increasing fanbase, and their latest single, Hurricane, came out in 2021.
Trewartha regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through his personal as well as the band’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. He is also available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform. The band also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Grey, and an official website, greymusicofficial.com.
