United Kingdom Mike Wozniak has established himself as a versatile comedian, writer, and actor, transitioning from a medical career to a prominent figure in British entertainment.
Mike Wozniak partnered with Channel 4 and Experian in a commercial collaboration titled “Credit 101” to impart financial wisdom to young people through a series of videos, making complex financial concepts such as credit scores, loans, and mortgages more accessible and engaging.
Michael James Wozniak was born in Oxford in 1979 and raised in Portsmouth. He pursued a medical degree at St George’s, University of London, and worked as a doctor for several years before entering the comedy scene. His career in entertainment began with live sketch comedy in the late 1990s, evolving into stand-up comedy by 2007. This foundation in both practical and creative fields provided him with a unique perspective that later influenced his comedic style and performances. His early achievements include winning the Amused Moose Laugh-Off contest at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2008, where he was also nominated for the comedy newcomer award, marking a significant turning point in his career.
Wozniak’s television breakthrough occurred in 2013 with his role as Brian in the Channel 4 sitcom ‘Man Down,’ starring alongside and contributing as a writer for the show. This role showcased his acting capabilities and brought him wider recognition. In the years that followed, he continued to expand his creative contributions, writing the physical comedy ‘Ruby Robinson’ for Sky Arts in 2015. His appearance on ‘Taskmaster’ in 2021, where he placed second, further cemented his status in British comedy. Building on his ‘Taskmaster’ success, he later became the assistant to Rose Matafeo in ‘Junior Taskmaster’ in 2024, demonstrating his continued engagement in new and established comedic formats.
Beyond acting and writing, Wozniak has ventured into directing, making his directorial debut with the dramedy ‘Sump’ in 2017. His involvement in various podcast projects, such as ‘St. Elwick’s Neighbourhood Association Newsletter Podcast’ and ‘Three Bean Salad,’ highlights his adaptability across different media. The ‘Three Bean Salad’ podcast, co-created with Henry Paker and Benjamin Partridge, received critical acclaim, winning the Best Comedy Podcast at the Chortle Awards in March 2024. Wozniak’s career trajectory reflects a steady progression from a foundational medical background to a multifaceted career in comedy and entertainment.
