Mitch Bergsma ‘MicBergsma’

Mitch Bergsma, known as ‘MicBergsma’, was born deaf and maintained a curious and active approach to life from an early age. Prior to his extensive career in videography, Mitch gained diverse work experience, including roles at an ice company and a golf course during high school, followed by a period at a mortgage company. During this time, he also competed as a semi-pro wakeboarder, participating in various state competitions. His passion for action-packed video emerged as he discovered an interest in filming others alongside his competitive wakeboarding.

This interest led Mitch to develop his video editing skills and acquire his first GoPro camera. He began uploading a wide range of videos to his YouTube channel, ‘MicBergsma’, which quickly gained popularity. The success of his YouTube content allowed him to transition into videography as a full-time profession. Operating his own business with his wife, Mitch now travels globally to shoot videos and has been commissioned by major companies to produce commercials across various locations. A notable project included traveling to Brussels to film commercials for a non-profit organization focused on the challenges faced by mothers of disabled children.

Over his career, Mitch has earned recognition for his contributions as a teacher, videographer, producer, and director, particularly noted for his editing abilities. He is an enthusiast of various activities, including scooter collecting, scuba diving, sky diving, stand-up paddle boarding, wakeboarding, and hockey. He is also involved in restoring a VW bus. Residing in Austin, Mitch is a leading videographer in the city and is widely recognized for his work.
