Moana Hope

Moana Hope has transitioned from a pioneering AFLW athlete to a recognized media personality and motivational speaker, sharing her journey and insights with diverse audiences. After becoming the first female player in VFL Women’s history to kick over 100 goals in a season, achieving an impressive 104 goals in just 18 games in 2016, Moana Hope established herself as a formidable force in Australian rules football. Her early career saw her play senior women’s football with Hadfield, represent Victoria at a state level, and captain the state’s under-19 team. She was also a member of the Australia women’s international rules football team in 2006.

Her impressive performance led to her re-signing with Collingwood for the 2018 AFLW season. Subsequently, she joined North Melbourne in May 2018, playing throughout the 2019 season before her delisting in April 2019, concluding a distinguished career as a pioneering AFLW athlete. Transitioning from her impactful football career, Hope swiftly became a recognized media personality and motivational speaker. In 2017, she published her critically acclaimed memoir, ‘My Way,’ offering insights into her journey and experiences.
