Molly Sims was born on May 25, 1973, in Murray, Kentucky. Her early life included a move to Murray so her father could continue working for his book company. After graduating from Murray High School in 1991, Sims enrolled at Vanderbilt University, initially pursuing a law career. However, at the suggestion of a roommate, she submitted photographs to a modeling agency. Two years into college, in 1993, she paused her academic pursuits to sign with NEXT Models, marking the beginning of her career in the fashion industry. This decision led her to become a prominent figure in modeling, appearing in numerous campaigns and publications.
Sims’ modeling career included major fashion campaigns for brands such as Jimmy Choo, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Michael Kors, and Chanel. She was a regular presence in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue throughout the early 2000s, appearing in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2006. A notable moment was her appearance in the 2006 issue, where she wore a $30 million diamond-studded bikini. In 2001, she became an official spokesmodel for Old Navy, a role recognized for its memorable tagline, “You gotta get this look!” The following year, she secured a multi-year contract with CoverGirl, further solidifying her status in the beauty industry. She also walked the runway for the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2001.
Transitioning into acting, Sims portrayed Delinda Deline in the NBC comedy-drama series “Las Vegas” from 2003 to 2008, a role spanning 106 episodes. Her film credits include “Starsky & Hutch” (2004), “The Benchwarmers” (2006), “Yes Man” (2008), “The Pink Panther 2” (2009), “Fired Up!” (2009), and “The Wrong Missy” (2020), among others. Beyond entertainment, Sims has established herself as an entrepreneur with YSE Beauty, a skincare line developed from her personal experiences with skin concerns.
