Nathaniel Buzolic

Nathaniel Buzolic, born on August 4, 1983, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, embarked on his acting career after studying at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) and graduating from Screenwise Acting School for Film and Television in 2004. His early work included hosting the Disney Channel’s afternoon kids show “Studio Disney” (2005) and the Nine Network’s late-night television quiz show “The Mint” (2007). He also held a regular role on the BBC soap opera “Out of the Blue” (2008), appearing in 50 episodes as Paul O’Donnell. These early experiences provided a foundation for his subsequent work in both Australian and international productions.

Buzolic gained significant recognition for his role as Kol Mikaelson in The CW series “The Vampire Diaries,” which he joined in 2011, and reprised in its spin-off, “The Originals,” appearing in 24 episodes between 2013 and 2018. During this period, he also featured in “Pretty Little Liars” as Dean Stavros (2014–2015) and took on a main role in the TV series “Significant Mother” (2015) as Jimmy Barnes. In film, he played Harold ‘Hal’ Doss in the 2016 film “Hacksaw Ridge,” a production that received critical acclaim. His acting credits also include a role in “Deep Blue Sea 3” (2020) as Richard Lowell and the upcoming film “Mob Cops” (2025) as Jesse Folino.

Beyond his acting roles, Buzolic has been involved in various other projects. He co-hosted the educational show “Weather Ed” on Sky News Weather Channel. He also utilizes his platform as a Christian influencer, launching a faith podcast titled “Against the Grain.” His career displays consistent engagement in television and film, alongside personal initiatives that extend his reach to different audiences. He most recently appeared as Kol Mikaelson in “Legacies” in 2022.
