Popular Australian actor and television host Nathanial Buzolic is best known for his role as Kol Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries. He also had a regular leading part on soap opera Out of the Blue and co-hosted the Weather Ed educational show on The Weather Channel and quiz show The Mint.
Born in Sydney, Buzolic learnt his trade at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) in Sydney followed by the Screenwise Acting School for Film and Television. He began to land small roles on Australian TV shows including Home and Away, All Saints and Water Rates in the early 2000s and hosted kids show Studio Disney for the Disney channel in 2005 followed by quiz show The Mint in 2007.
He returned acting after landing the leading role of Paul O’Donnell in Australian drama Out of the Blue, commissioned by the BBC.
In 2011 Buzolic rose to international fame after being cast as Kol Mikaelson in the hugely popular American TV series The Vampire Diaries, and he later reprised the role in spin-off series The Originals. Buzolic has since starred in many other hit US series including Bones, Significant Mother and as Dean Stavros in Pretty Little Liars, a substance abuse counsellor.
Buzolic has also made a successful transition to the big screen, appearing in movies including Deep Blue Sea 3, Saving Zoë and Hacksaw Ridge directed by Mel Gibson.
