The fabulous Roland Møller is an award-winning actor, musician, and self-professed Danish raconteur, who is best known outside of his native Denmark for the blockbuster movies Atomic Blonde, Papillon, and Skyscraper. He is also set to appear in the Russo Brothers’s sci-fi series Citadel. Besides acting, he has co-hosted on two Danish Radio 24/7 programmes, Politiradio, and Nattevagten.
Born and raised in Odense, Denmark, Møller grew up in a criminal environment, and after serving time was ordered to leave Odense in 2002. He turned his life around by firstly attending the music folk High School Den Rytmiske Højskole, and then after graduating he relocated to Copenhagen where he began writing songs for the rapper Jokeren.
Møller was working as a consultant on the 2010 prison drama R on location at the jail he had served time in when the co-director offered him a role in the movie. His performance was so impressive that he earned Supporting Actor nominations from the Bodil Awards and from the Danish Film Critics Association Awards. He then appeared in 2012’s A Hijaking, and 2013’s Nordvest. He was again nominated for the Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actor for both movies, winning for Nordvest. In 2015 his first leading role in the war film Land of Mine earned him a Best Actor Bodil Award. He has since gone on to appear in numerous Danish productions, and has broken into Hollywood with parts in 2017’s Atomic Blonde opposite Charlize Theron, the Papillon remake, and the action thriller Skyscraper with Dwayne Johnson.
Møller regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, posting pictures and videos about his life both on and off the camera. He is also available for that personalised shout-out via the cameo platform.
