Navdeep Singh Sheoran, born on November 11, 2000, in Panipat, Haryana, India, is a distinguished para javelin thrower. Singh, who lives with dwarfism and stands at four feet four inches, encountered early societal taunts that he leveraged into motivation for his athletic career. His journey in para-athletics began to gain momentum in 2017 when he won a gold medal in the men’s javelin F41 event at the Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai. This early success set the stage for further achievements and marked the beginning of his international competitive presence. He continued his progression by securing another gold medal at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai in 2021.

Singh’s career includes significant appearances on the world stage. He competed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where he finished fourth in the javelin throw F41 event. Despite narrowly missing the podium, this experience further fueled his dedication. The Hangzhou Asian Para Games later saw him again secure fourth place. In 2024, Singh earned a bronze medal at the World Para Athletics championships, demonstrating consistent performance in high-level competitions. His hard work culminated at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where he won a gold medal in the javelin throw F41 class, setting a new Paralympic record of 47.32m. This achievement marked India’s first-ever medal in the F41 javelin category and represented a significant personal and national milestone.
