Neil Walker

Neil Walker transitioned from a decorated MLB player to a baseball broadcaster, bringing a unique perspective from his extensive career as an infielder. After being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 2004 MLB June Amateur Draft, Neil Walker made his Major League Baseball debut with the team on September 1, 2009. He quickly established himself as a prominent infielder, earning recognition as second baseman on both Baseball America’s 2010 All-Rookie Team and the 2010 Topps Major League Rookie All-Star Team. Walker continued to demonstrate his offensive prowess, hitting his first career Major League grand slam on Opening Day in 2011 during his significant tenure with the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2009 to 2015.

His insightful commentary and firsthand knowledge quickly led to his promotion to a full-time commentator role for the Pirates broadcast team before the 2022 season.
