French professional footballer N’Golo Kante is star of Premier League club Chelsea as well as representing his home country on the pitch.
As a young player Kante played for JS Suresnes, a suburban team in his native city of Paris. He then made the reserve team of French side Boulogne, climbing his way up through the leagues and joining Ligue 2 team Caen in 2013. His consistently good play meant that he was scouted for English club Leicester City and in 2015 was signed to the team. With him as part of the squad Leicester City went on to win the 2015- 2016 Premier League and was named as a midfielder in the PFA Team of the Year. The team’s performance dropped considerably when Kante left for Chelsea in 2016, where he has played ever since. During his time with the team he has won an FA Cup winner’s medal, and has been nominated for the Ballon D’Or.
As well as his impressive club career, Kante has also enjoyed plenty of international success. In 2016 he made his debut for the French side during a friendly match and since then has played in the UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. His energy and tactical skill on the pitch means he remains at the top of his game and is a key part of Chelsea and France’s sides.
