About

Born in Bermuda on August 16, 1990, and raised in Boston, Nicholas Christopher cultivated his artistic talents through studies at the Juilliard School and The Boston Conservatory. His early career saw him gain recognition as Benny in the first U.S. touring cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s *In The Heights*. He subsequently made his Off-Broadway debut as Tom Collins in the revival of Jonathan Larson’s *Rent*. Christopher’s Broadway debut followed in 2013 as part of the ensemble of *Motown: The Musical*, where he later earned a promotion to the role of Smokey Robinson for the show’s national touring cast in 2014.

Christopher’s career progression includes significant roles in several high-profile productions. In 2016, he joined the Broadway cast of Miranda’s *Hamilton* at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, replacing original cast member Christopher Jackson as George Washington. He departed *Hamilton* a year later to portray John Thomas in the first Broadway revival of *Miss Saigon* at the Broadway Theatre. He returned to *Hamilton* in 2018 for its national tour, starring as Aaron Burr, and rejoined the Broadway company in 2019 as George Washington. From 2021 to 2022, Christopher reprised the role of Aaron Burr for the Los Angeles production at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. His television work includes a recurring role in three seasons of *All Rise* (2020-2023) as David Sanders, and appearances in *Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll* (FX) and *United States of Al* (CBS).

Returning to the Broadway stage in 2023, Christopher performed as Adolfo Pirelli in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s *Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street* at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. During this engagement, he also understudied and later temporarily assumed the titular role of Sweeney Todd from January to February 2024. In March 2024, he took a leave from *Sweeney Todd* to star as Jelly Roll Morton in New York City Center’s production of *Jelly’s Last Jam*. He subsequently rejoined *Hamilton* as George Washington from August to October 2024 before taking on the role of Seymour Krelborn in the Off-Broadway revival of *Little Shop of Horrors* from 2024-2025. In October 2025, Christopher is slated to headline the first Broadway revival of *Chess* as Anatoly Sergievsky at the Imperial Theatre, alongside Aaron Tveit and Lea Michele.
