United States Nicholas D'Agosto has established a career in film and television, known for his diverse acting roles across various genres.

Nicholas D’Agosto was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Alan and Deanna D’Agosto. He was the middle of five children. His acting journey began at the age of eleven. While a senior at Creighton Preparatory School, he secured a role in the film “Election” (1999), which was filmed in Omaha in 1997. After high school, he pursued higher education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating cum laude with degrees in History and Theatre. He later relocated to Los Angeles, California, to further his acting career, where he currently resides with his wife and young son.
D’Agosto consistently engaged in acting throughout his early life, participating in numerous plays and musicals. He was also involved in competitive forensics speech tournaments during his middle school years. After his role in “Election” (1999), he continued with performances in projects such as “Psycho Beach Party” (2000) while still in college. His career progressed with guest appearances in various television series including “Boston Public,” “ER,” “Six Feet Under,” “Cold Case,” “House,” “Supernatural,” and “Without a Trace.” He also undertook a recurring role as West Rosen in the second season of “Heroes” (2007) and appeared in three episodes of “The Office” (2007).
His filmography expanded to include roles in “Rocket Science” (2007), “Extreme Movie” (2008), and a starring role in the teen comedy “Fired Up!” (2009). For “Fired Up!”, D’Agosto underwent three weeks of cheer camp and worked with a professional choreographer. He also took on the lead role of Sam Lawton in “Final Destination 5” (2011). In television, he portrayed Dr. Ethan Haas in the first season of “Masters of Sex” (2013-2014) on Showtime and was cast as Harvey Dent in the Fox series “Gotham” (2014-2016), a role that evolved from recurring to main. From 2017 to 2018, he held a lead role as Josh Segal in the NBC sitcom “Trial & Error.” More recently, he has had a recurring role as Deputy Director Doug Bailey in “Criminal Minds: Evolution” (2022-2024).
